How sewing made an unemployed woman the talk of the town with her 365 day challenge

Marisa Lynch got quite a lot of notoriety when she vowed to make “A Dress A Day“, inspired by the movie “Julie and Julia“. She only spent 1.00 or less for each thrift shop find that she up-cycled into a cute and wearable garment that she would in turn wear out with friends. She turned her sewing skills into a media frenzy as she completed her 365th garment.

Sewing from discarded clothing was something I did to make pre-school clothes for my boys when they were tiny. You would be surprised what you can make with a large, navy blue, corduroy, ladies jumper for fabric to make little boy pants. I’ve done it all and that is why I was to taken with Marisa’s blog and accomplishment. Check it out:
