Did you know that you can buy things that didn’t sell at Goodwill for 49-99 cents a pound?!!!
Have you ever wondered what happened to all the things that don’t sell at your local Goodwill Store? Did you think they put it into trash bags and added it to our landfill or dropped it off at local thrift shops to be donated once again? I did.
I just finished a phone interview with a representative from Goodwill Outlet Stores. Guess what…There are Goodwill OUTLET Stores???? Did you know this? For the frugal person this is a whole untapped source to living super CHEAPLY!
The very kind lady from the Gorham, Maine Goodwill Outlet Store explained to me how it works: On the way in the door you are handed a sheet of paper with all the prices per pound and which items fall under the different catagories determining their price. They range in price from 49 cents to 99 cents per pound. (unless otherwise marked)
Clothing, linens, bedding, pillows, fabric, etc. – 99 cents per pound
Electronics, including phones, computers, tablets, etc. – 99 cents per pound
All furniture – 99 cents per pound
Toys, glassware, kitchen items, plastic, metal, misc. items, etc. – 49 cents per pound
Again, (unless otherwise marked)
There is a large set of scales in the middle of the store where you can weigh all your treasures BEFORE you purchase, which is great. No surprises at the cash register!
