A Really Fun and Creative Way to Use Dryer Lint – Paper Mache

Dryer lint makes a wonderful craft paste for extra strong paper mache. Make the paste by mixing 3 cups dryer lint with 2 cups of water in a large saucepan. Stir to mix completely and then add 2/3 cup of flour and stir until all lumps are gone. Add 3 drops of oil and cook over low heat until thickened and forms small peaks (like the consistency of Cream of Wheat). Remove from heat and let it cool until it’s comfortable to handle. Spread it on any object to form a very firm surface, perfect for painting. Once your project of choice has dried for 5 days you’ll have a very durable piece of art that the kids will love to make.
